beehiiv pricing in 2026
Four plans, two of which anyone reading this will actually consider. Every figure below comes from beehiiv's own pricing page, checked on August 30, 2026 — not from a review site.
Every plan
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Subscribers | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | Free | — | Up to 2,500 | Unlimited sends, custom domains, recommendations, basic analytics |
| Scale | $43/mo | $517/yr | Up to 100,000 | Ad Network, 0% take rate on paid subscriptions, digital products, community, automations, advanced analytics, 3 team seats |
| Max | $96/mo | $1,151/yr | Up to 100,000 | No beehiiv branding, sponsorship storefront, audio newsletters, up to 10 publications, unlimited seats, Send API, click-triggered automations |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Negotiated limits and support |
The thing the table hides
beehiiv's paid plans are flat to 100,000 subscribers, not banded by list size the way most email platforms price. That single fact decides whether beehiiv is expensive or cheap, and the answer changes as you grow.
| List size | Scale, per 1,000 subscribers |
|---|---|
| 1,000 subscribers | $43.00 |
| 10,000 subscribers | $4.30 |
| 50,000 subscribers | $0.86 |
| 100,000 subscribers | $0.43 |
At a thousand subscribers beehiiv looks costly next to MailerLite's $12 entry or Kit's free tier. At fifty thousand it is one of the cheapest things you can be paying for, because the bill hasn't moved.
Which plan you need
Launch
You haven't published four issues yet. 2,500 subscribers and unlimited sends is more than enough runway to find out whether you'll keep going. Costs nothing, so there's nothing to decide.
Scale
What almost everyone actually wants. It's the line where beehiiv becomes a business rather than a sending tool: Ad Network, 0% take rate on paid subscriptions, digital products, community, automations.
Max
You're running several publications, selling sponsorships through a storefront, or you need beehiiv's branding off the page. If none of those is true, the extra $53 a month buys you nothing you'll use.
How that compares
| Platform | Free tier | Entry paid price | Cut of your subscription revenue |
|---|---|---|---|
| beehiiv | 2,500 subscribers | $43/mo | 0% on Scale and above |
| Substack | Unlimited, free to publish | No monthly fee | 10%, plus Stripe fees |
| Kit | 10,000 subscribers | $33/mo at 1,000 | 3.5% + 30¢ on sales |
| Ghost(Pro) | None (self-hosting is free) | $18/mo, 1,000 members | 0%, Stripe fees only |
| MailerLite | 250 subscribers | $12/mo | n/a |
Each figure from that vendor's own pricing page, checked August 30, 2026. Kit and MailerLite price by list size, so their entry figures rise with your subscriber count; beehiiv's and Ghost(Pro)'s tiers hold to a ceiling.
