What it is
Backcountry is a US online retailer for outdoor gear and apparel covering skiing, snowboarding, climbing, hiking, biking and running. It carries hardgoods as well as clothing, plus its own Backcountry and Stoic brands, which pushes average order values well above a typical apparel store.
The deal
What Backcountry publishes is a range rather than a rate: 4% to 12%, moving with volume, with no breakpoints given. A new affiliate should plan around the bottom of that band and treat the top as something to negotiate later, not something to model revenue on. Thirty days is a long window for retail, and it helps here because outdoor hardgoods get researched for weeks before purchase. One catch sits outside the commission table entirely: Backcountry does not sell to customers in the European Union and redirects EU visitors to a notice page, so EU traffic will not convert at all.
Getting paid
The program runs on Impact. Backcountry publishes no threshold, payment method or payout schedule of its own, so all of that is governed by the Impact contract you accept once approved.
The rules
Backcountry publishes no restrictions on its affiliate page. Any rules on paid search, trademark bidding or coupon placements sit in the Impact program terms and are only visible after you apply.
