What it is

Bluehost sells shared, VPS and managed WordPress hosting alongside domains, aimed mainly at people building their first site. It has long sat on WordPress.org’s recommended hosts list, which is why it turns up in so many beginner tutorials. The affiliate program runs on Impact under parent company Newfold Digital.

The deal

This is a flat fee per sale, not a percentage, and it is paid once — renewals earn nothing. Only 12-month and 36-month plans qualify, so a visitor who signs up monthly earns you nothing at all; the precise qualifying list sits in the insertion order inside your Impact account rather than on the public page. Bluehost describes the rate as a floor and says higher rates exist for performance or promotional periods, but publishes no ladder, so the base figure is the only number worth relying on. The much wider per-sale range quoted by affiliate directories does not appear anywhere on Bluehost’s own pages.

Getting paid

There is a deliberate wait: commissions clear roughly six weeks after the month the sale landed in, which covers the 30-day refund window, and the agreement permits up to ten weeks. The withdrawal floor is low enough that a single sale usually clears it. PayPal carries a 2% processing fee with a cap, so bank transfer is cheaper once balances get large. Disputes must be raised within 45 days of the sale or the claim is forfeited.

The rules

Search engine marketing on Google needs written approval first, and you cannot bid on keywords Bluehost owns or that compete with it. Unapproved coupon codes are banned — and any sale where you gave the customer a discount, refund or credit is excluded from commission outright. Also excluded: customers who transferred from another Newfold brand or reseller programme, customers who clicked a different affiliate’s link first, customers not in good standing after 30 days, and anyone who took a discounted exit-intent popup on the way out. Affiliates with high cancellation rates can have commissions withheld. FTC disclosure is required on every page carrying a link, positioned so it is visible without scrolling.
