ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN is a consumer VPN service founded in 2009 and based in the British Virgin Islands.

What it is

ExpressVPN is a consumer VPN service founded in 2009 and based in the British Virgin Islands. It sells monthly and multi-year subscriptions and is one of the larger paid VPN providers, with apps across desktop, mobile and routers.

The deal

This is a flat cash payout per sale, not a percentage, and it happens once. ExpressVPN states plainly that it works on a CPA basis with no commission on renewals, so a customer who stays for years still pays you a single time. The amount depends on which plan the customer picks, and it stops climbing above the annual plan: the two-year term pays exactly the same as the one-year, so there is nothing to gain from steering people to the longest commitment. ExpressVPN calls these its default rates and says they move with volume, so a high-traffic site should expect to negotiate rather than treat the published figures as final. No tracking window is published anywhere on the affiliate pages.

Getting paid

Payment runs NET30 after each calendar month closes, so budget for roughly a month’s lag on top of the month the sale happened in. Anything under the threshold rolls forward instead of disappearing. PayPal is the default and the details need to be added at signup; once monthly commissions pass $1,000 you can take a direct wire instead. Signups that fail ExpressVPN’s fraud checks get declined in the affiliate panel and are not paid at all.

The rules

You need a live website with VPN-related content simply to be accepted, and applications are reviewed within a day or two. Paid search is allowed, which is unusual, but not on the brand: no bidding on ExpressVPN or its misspellings, no brand name in ad text, and no linking directly from Google Ads to ExpressVPN, which also rules out domain masking. Spam by email or in blog, forum and social comment sections is banned, as are cookie-stuffing and pop-up or pop-under ads. Sub-affiliates and brokering are not permitted and there is no reseller program. Breaking these rules voids earned commission, withholds payment and bans the account.
