Filemail

Filemail is a large-file transfer and secure file-sharing service, sold on personal, professional, business and enterprise plans.

What it is

Filemail is a large-file transfer and secure file-sharing service, sold on personal, professional, business and enterprise plans. The affiliate program pays a share of what a referred customer spends in their first year. It fits productivity and software review sites and anyone writing about sending big files.

The deal

You only earn on paid subscriptions. A trial that never converts pays nothing. On an annual plan you take a fifth of the first year’s fee as one payment; on a monthly plan you take a fifth of each month’s bill and it stops the moment the customer cancels or the twelve months run out, whichever comes first. There is no second year and no upgrade path to a higher rate, so a referral’s ceiling is fixed at signup. The trade-off is a 90-day cookie, which is unusually long for a tool at this price, and no cap on how many customers you can send.

Getting paid

Every commission sits for 30 days before it becomes payable, then goes out at the first month-end after that, as long as you have at least the minimum balance. Payment is PayPal only and Filemail asks for the account at signup. Filemail also says it will hold a commission longer if the referred account shows no logins and no file activity, because dormant accounts on a new card usually end in a chargeback.

The rules

Bidding on the Filemail brand name in Google Ads, Bing Ads or any similar network is grounds for immediate suspension, and those referrals earn nothing. Registering a domain that contains the Filemail name gets a permanent ban. One affiliate account per person; register a second and all of them are banned. If your account is closed for a terms breach, pending and future commission is void. Claims made in ads you run are your responsibility and must be real and verifiable.
