FreshBooks

FreshBooks is cloud accounting and invoicing software built for freelancers, contractors and small service businesses.

What it is

FreshBooks is cloud accounting and invoicing software built for freelancers, contractors and small service businesses. It covers invoices, expenses, time tracking and basic bookkeeping. The affiliate program suits anyone whose audience is already shopping for accounting tools.

The deal

The published figure is a ceiling, not a rate. FreshBooks says a paid subscriber can be worth up to $200 and that your structure is customised as you grow, but it never publishes a starting rate or the ladder that gets you there. You see the best case and have to join to learn what you would actually be offered. Two events pay: a free trial sign-up and an upgrade to a paid plan. A trial only counts if the person is in an eligible country and gives complete, accurate details. Nothing published suggests renewals pay again, so treat this as payment on the first conversion.

Getting paid

Commissions sit untouched for two weeks to cover cancellations, then a person at FreshBooks reviews them before approval. Approved amounts go out on the next monthly PartnerStack invoice, so the gap between a referral and cash is usually more than a month. Everything is denominated in US dollars. FreshBooks does not publish a payout threshold or the withdrawal methods, and its own FAQ points you to PartnerStack for both.

The rules

You cannot bid on FreshBooks brand terms or use them in ad copy without written approval, and paid ads cannot link straight to FreshBooks through an affiliate link. Coupon and deal sites need explicit written approval before promoting. Email promotion must meet CAN-SPAM and CASL. Self-referrals are disqualified and a pattern of them ends the relationship, as does a pattern of spam sign-ups. Applications are accepted or refused at FreshBooks’ discretion, and some regions are auto-declined.
