GetYourGuide is a marketplace for tours, day trips and attraction tickets in cities worldwide.

What it is

GetYourGuide is a marketplace for tours, day trips and attraction tickets in cities worldwide. Travellers book experiences through it the way they book flights or hotels elsewhere. Its partner program is aimed at people who publish travel content.

The deal

Every partner starts on the same base rate, applied to the value of the bookings your readers make. Higher rates exist but are negotiated privately with established or top-performing partners rather than published, so the base rate is the only figure you can count on going in. Because commission attaches to booking value, earnings scale far better with expensive multi-day tours than with cheap attraction tickets. Two things quietly cut against you. Discount codes and vouchers break tracking, so a reader who applies one earns you nothing. And the cookie, though first-party and unaffected by third-party cookie deprecation, can be overwritten by another partner’s link or a paid search click before checkout. Bookings completed inside the GetYourGuide app are not attributed at all, so links need to land in a mobile browser.

Getting paid

GetYourGuide runs its own partner portal rather than paying through a network. The important detail is that commission is settled on travel date, not booking date: a tour booked in January for an August trip is only invoiced after the trip has happened, so there is a real lag between the sale and the money. Invoices appear early in the month and payment usually completes within the first ten working days. PayPal has no threshold; bank transfer holds your balance until it clears one. You choose a payout currency at signup, and missing or invalid VAT or sales tax details will stop payment entirely.

The rules

Discount codes and vouchers cannot be used alongside an affiliate link if you want the booking tracked. Bookings made in the GetYourGuide app are not attributed. GetYourGuide’s partner resource centre publishes nothing on paid search, brand bidding or self-referrals; a separate Partner Terms and Conditions document, linked from the partner site, governs the relationship.
