InMotion Hosting

InMotion Hosting is a US web host that has been selling shared, WordPress, VPS, cloud and dedicated hosting for over 20 years.

What it is

InMotion Hosting is a US web host that has been selling shared, WordPress, VPS, cloud and dedicated hosting for over 20 years. It targets small business owners, agencies and developers, and leans on its US-based support team as a selling point.

The deal

InMotion pays a flat cash amount per sale rather than a percentage, and publishes only the ceiling. What you actually earn turns on two things it does not attach numbers to: which product the referral buys, and how many sales you make in the month. The higher-tier products, VPS, cloud and dedicated, push the payout up; entry-level shared hosting sits well below the advertised maximum. The program also advertises custom commission and bonus structures negotiated with an affiliate manager, so for a larger publisher the published ceiling is a starting point for a conversation rather than a hard limit.

Getting paid

InMotion publishes only that payouts are monthly. Everything else is set inside Impact and visible in your partner account rather than on InMotion’s site: the minimum threshold, the validation period before a sale becomes payable, and the available payment methods. Its terms are explicit that it is not responsible for payments below whatever threshold the platform applies, and that payouts can be delayed or withheld while a transaction is still inside its refund window. Affiliates are asked to add bank details when setting the account up.

The rules

You cannot earn on your own hosting. InMotion calls out self sign-ups specifically, and any attempt to claim commission on accounts you control. On advertising, the trademark cannot appear in domain names, ad copy or display URLs without prior written approval, and branded paid search needs authorisation first, though unbranded paid search is not itself banned. The usual tracking-abuse rules apply: no iframes or forced clicks to set cookies, no artificially generated clicks, no overriding another partner’s tracking. FTC disclosure of the relationship is required and failing to disclose can mean commission is withheld. Accounts can also be terminated for inactivity.
