LiveChat

LiveChat sells customer service software: live chat for websites, an AI chatbot builder, a help desk, and a combined workspace that merges them.

What it is

LiveChat sells customer service software: live chat for websites, an AI chatbot builder, a help desk, and a combined workspace that merges them. The vendor now trades as Text and runs one program covering all four products. Customers are mainly ecommerce and SaaS support teams.

The deal

This is one of the few programs that genuinely pays for the life of the subscription rather than a fixed window, and the terms say so in those words: the rate applies for as long as the referred account keeps paying. Your payment rhythm mirrors the customer’s, so a referral on monthly billing pays you monthly and one on annual billing pays you once a year in a lump. The rate steps up permanently once you have brought in five paying customers, though the increase applies to new licences from that point rather than being backdated to existing ones. There is also a second tier: refer another partner into the program and you take a cut of the sales they generate, also for as long as those sales continue. One link covers all four products, so the same audience can convert on chat, chatbot or help desk. The cookie window is long by software-program standards.

Getting paid

Everything runs through LiveChat’s own Partner App rather than an affiliate network. Earnings sit in a balance you withdraw yourself, and anything under the minimum rolls into the next month instead of being forfeited. Withdrawals are all-or-nothing, so you cannot take part of a balance and leave the rest. Payment is PayPal only, in US dollars, sent as an eCheck, which means partners in countries PayPal does not serve have no published alternative.

The rules

The partner terms prohibit registering or using domains that are identical or confusingly similar to the company’s name, and require partners to follow the brand guidelines. Buying search engine keywords, ad words or search terms is restricted where it promotes prohibited content categories. Installing spyware or adware is banned, as is any software, script or browser extension that injects, overlays or obscures paid advertising. Nothing is published about self-referrals.
