What it is

Paylocity sells cloud payroll and HR software to US businesses, covering payroll, benefits administration, time tracking and workforce management. Its customers run from small employers to companies with several thousand staff. The affiliate program pays for qualified leads rather than closed deals.

The deal

This is a lead bounty rather than a share of revenue: you are paid when a referred company becomes a qualified lead, and the amount scales with that company’s headcount, so an enterprise referral is worth five times a micro-business one. That makes employee count the single thing worth qualifying for before you send traffic anywhere. The referred company also has to be new to Paylocity. Paylocity’s own terms say the amounts can change and that the PartnerStack portal, not the public directory listing, is the authority on what you will actually be paid. One thing to keep straight: the refer-a-client scheme on Paylocity’s own site is a different program with different amounts — the affiliate program is the PartnerStack one.

Getting paid

PartnerStack handles the money end to end. Commission is verified and released the month after it is earned, so budget for roughly a month of lag, then withdrawn from the PartnerStack dashboard to PayPal or Stripe. Paylocity does not publish a minimum balance, since that is PartnerStack’s setting. Anyone paid more than six hundred dollars in a calendar year gets a 1099.

The rules

You have to be a US resident and at least 18. Referring yourself, or spinning up fake or duplicate accounts to act as your own referral, is grounds for disqualification, and federal government employees and Paylocity staff cannot take part at all. Applications can be rejected for any reason. Paylocity publishes nothing on paid search or trademark bidding. Either side can end the arrangement on sixty days’ written notice, and if you are terminated for breaching the terms, unpaid commission connected to that breach is forfeited.
