Squarespace

Squarespace is an all-in-one website builder covering hosting, domains, online stores, scheduling and email campaigns.

What it is

Squarespace is an all-in-one website builder covering hosting, domains, online stores, scheduling and email campaigns. Its customers are designers, creatives and small brands who want a finished, maintained site rather than something to self-host.

The deal

This is a flat fee per new subscription rather than a share of revenue, and it only pays on people who have never touched Squarespace before — the terms disqualify anyone who reached the site from any other source before your click. Where you land inside the published band depends on the plan category the customer is on when the qualifying period ends, and if they downgrade during that period you are paid at the cheaper plan’s rate. Squarespace does not publish the exact per-plan amounts on its site; you see the rate card once you are accepted. Acuity Scheduling referrals pay a smaller fixed fee and need live links or screenshots proving your Acuity content is published.

Getting paid

No threshold or payout dates are published. Payment terms live on the insertion order inside Impact, and commissions are always paid in US dollars regardless of where you are. What Squarespace does publish is the wait: a referred customer has to stay in good standing for close to three months after subscribing before the sale qualifies at all, so this is a slow-clearing program even once a sale lands.

The rules

Applications are reviewed against selective criteria and Squarespace can refuse or revoke membership at its discretion. The master terms restrict the program to residents of Australia, Canada, EU countries, New Zealand, the UK and the US, and exclude around twenty US states and territories including Nevada, Washington DC and Puerto Rico — worth checking, because the public FAQ instead says affiliates are accepted anywhere Impact operates. Bidding on Squarespace brand terms or misspellings is banned on every pay-per-click network, as is using the brand in ad titles, ad copy or display URLs; paid ads must land on a page of your own site rather than linking straight to Squarespace, and you may not outbid Squarespace into the top five positions. Paid social boosting of posts carrying Squarespace materials is not allowed, nor are brand names in social account handles. Cookie stuffing, redirect tricks and toolbars or browser extensions that can divert another affiliate’s commission are prohibited. You also may not run ads for competing website builders, hosts, email or scheduling tools on any page carrying Squarespace materials, and sponsored content must carry a clear disclosure.
