What it is
Coinbase is a US-listed cryptocurrency exchange where retail customers buy, sell and hold crypto. Its affiliate program pays a share of the trading fees paid by customers who sign up through your link. Coinbase names comparison sites, cashback platforms, finance influencers, media and gaming platforms as the kinds of partner it takes.
The deal
You take half of what your referrals pay Coinbase in trading fees, but only for their first three months. After that the customer keeps trading and you stop earning, so the value of a referral is capped by how heavily they trade early on. A signup alone pays nothing: Coinbase says commission is earned once the new customer completes a qualifying transaction. There is no tier ladder and no published cookie window, so the single rate and the three-month window are the whole comparison. One caveat worth reading before you plan EU traffic: Coinbase states that for activity in the EU or EEA under MiFID rules the terms, commission structure and payment schedule may all be different, and points you to your Coinbase affiliate contact for the real numbers.
Getting paid
Tracking and payment run through Impact, so the threshold, clearing period and payment run are set in that account rather than published by Coinbase. What Coinbase does commit to is electronic payment to PayPal or a bank account, in your own local currency wherever you are.
The rules
Coinbase publishes no promotional rules, paid-search policy or country list on the affiliate page. It does note that its affiliate links run on coinbase.com or coinbase-consumer.sjv.io, and that it keeps no public directory of active affiliates.
What isn’t published
Coinbase publishes an affiliate page but not the full terms. Anything it doesn’t state — thresholds, payout timing, cookie window — is left blank here rather than guessed, and shows as a dash in comparisons.
