What it is
impact.com is a partnership management platform that brands use to run affiliate, influencer, referral and B2B partner programs in one place. Its customers are mostly mid-market and enterprise marketing teams, and large publishers sit on the other side of the marketplace. The company runs its own referral program for people who send new brands and publishers to the platform.
The deal
The program pays on a chain of tracked events rather than one commission, and most of those events are worth nothing on their own. Money only lands in three places: a self-serve trial starting, a self-serve customer being billed (capped at three payouts per customer), and a sales contract closing, which pays a share of the annual contract value. Because impact.com sells enterprise contracts, that percentage is where the large per-referral figures on the marketing page come from, and it pays once per deal rather than renewing. Credit is last click, and the attribution window is not uniform: it is shortest on trial starts and longest on closed contracts, with parent-action windows running much longer still. Rates and currency also vary by the country you and the referral are in, so the published numbers are a default rather than a promise.
Getting paid
Payment is by bank transfer only, so you have to complete a vendor payment form and hold a valid bank account in your territory before anything moves. On top of the two-stage lock-and-pay schedule, a contract only becomes a valid transaction once the referred customer has been invoiced and has paid for at least 90 days, and the master agreement adds a further 60-day wait after approval. Expect a long gap between the sale and the money. No minimum balance is published, and Impact can claw back fees on referrals that later become ineligible.
The rules
Referrals must be genuinely new. Anyone already in Impact’s systems, existing subscribers, customers of resellers, government bodies and their employees, political parties and candidates, and Impact’s own staff or agents are all excluded. You need Impact’s approval before you distribute your link, and the agreement names email plus Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and X as the approved channels. Emails must offer an opt-out and disclose that you may be paid. Framing impact.com pages, forcing links into new browser windows, and displaying their pages or logos in a distorted way are barred, as is any use of their name alongside spam, infringing, defamatory or adult material. The program terms are confidential.
