What it is
LightInTheBox is a cross-border online retailer selling apparel, wedding and occasion wear, home goods, lighting and small electronics, shipped internationally from China. Order values are low and the catalogue is broad. It is a volume marketplace rather than a branded store.
The deal
LightInTheBox publishes no commission figure anywhere on its own affiliate pages. Both the program page and the FAQ say only that the rate is attractive, that commission is calculated on product value rather than the full order total, and that specific rates may be negotiated individually with incentive and cashback partners. That last point matters: it means there is no single published rate to compare against, and what you are offered depends on the network you join and the deal you negotiate. Third-party directories quote figures for this program, but none of them trace back to anything LightInTheBox has published. Joining is free.
Getting paid
Nothing about payment is published by the merchant. It says only that its affiliate platforms handle order tracking, reporting and paying commission on time, without naming which platforms those are on the affiliate pages themselves. Thresholds, schedule, payment methods and any refund hold are therefore whatever the network you sign up through sets.
The rules
Trademark and URL bidding are explicitly banned, including the brand name, its spellings and any variation with an extra term such as a coupon keyword. LightInTheBox says it monitors this and will invalidate orders traced to it. Recruitment is screened: your site has to be live, accurately described, and already earning something on a network — zero-earning accounts are turned away, as are sites that are little more than a social account, are overloaded with banners, or are riddled with spelling errors. Insurance and finance sites are called out as a poor fit. Sexually explicit content, violence, discrimination and illegal activity are not allowed.
What isn’t published
LightInTheBox publishes an affiliate page but not the full terms. Anything it doesn’t state — thresholds, payout timing, cookie window — is left blank here rather than guessed, and shows as a dash in comparisons.
