What it is
Recruitee is applicant tracking software for small and mid-sized companies, now sold under the Tellent brand alongside its HRIS and performance products. The referral program is branded as the Tellent Ambassador Program and runs on PartnerStack. It suits HR consultants, recruiters, agencies and business bloggers who advise companies on hiring tools.
The deal
You earn a share of everything the customer pays, but only for their first twelve months of paid usage. After that the commission stops, so this is a one-year revenue share rather than a residual. Add-ons, premium support, training, onboarding and job advertisements are all excluded, so only the core software subscription counts.
Several conditions decide whether a referral qualifies at all. The lead cannot already be a paying customer, cannot have opened a trial in the previous twelve months, and cannot be someone Tellent is already pursuing. The referral also expires if the deal does not close within a year. The contract adds that the rate shown in your PartnerStack account overrides everything, that it can change at any time without notice to you, and that it drops to 15% if no rate has been communicated. A separate, better-paying tier ladder exists for solution partners, but Tellent assigns those tiers rather than letting you opt in.
Getting paid
Commission only becomes due six weeks after Tellent has actually collected the money from the customer, not when the deal is signed, so the wait from sale to cash is long. If the customer pays in instalments you get the matching slice of commission each time. Tellent posts a monthly statement in PartnerStack showing what is owed and which accounts it relates to, and you cash out to PayPal or a bank account. No minimum threshold is published. If you earn nothing for six months Tellent can close your account without notice.
The rules
You are not allowed to advertise Tellent publicly, which explicitly includes buying ads on online advertising platforms, and mass mailings are banned as a way of finding leads. Tellent’s marketing materials can only be used with written pre-approval, which can be withdrawn at any time. Nothing is paid on subscriptions bought by you or any company in your group. You cannot offer a lead a payment or discount to get them to buy, and you cannot share your commission with them. The agreement also requires you not to speak negatively about Tellent, and takes three months’ notice to exit.
