What it is
Xero is cloud accounting software for small businesses, covering invoicing, bank reconciliation, expense claims and payroll. Its buyers are small business owners, and it sells globally across more than 180 countries. The affiliate program is aimed at publishers and creators who reach small business owners, and is separate from both Xero’s channel partner program and its partner program for accounting practices.
The deal
Xero deliberately does not publish a rate. Its FAQ says the structure depends on your audience and your location, and that rates are discussed once you have joined, so any specific figure quoted on a third-party site is somebody’s private deal rather than a public term. The publisher agreement does pin down the shape of the deal: you are paid once per referred business and never repeatedly, and only where that business is new to Xero, is not itself an accounting or bookkeeping firm, signs up through your link, and then converts to a paid Business Edition subscription within 35 days of signing up. Xero alone decides whether a lead qualified, regardless of what PartnerStack recorded.
Getting paid
Xero’s only obligation is to pay PartnerStack; PartnerStack then pays you, and Xero explicitly disclaims responsibility for that leg. Thresholds, timing and payment methods are therefore whatever PartnerStack sets, and none of it appears on Xero’s page. Xero can charge back commission on referrals it judges fraudulent or paid in error. If it terminates you for breach rather than for convenience, commission you have accrued but not yet been paid is forfeited.
The rules
Every site you promote on has to be submitted and approved before you use the link there, and Xero can withdraw that approval later. You may not bid on Xero brand names or trademarks, or misspellings of them, as pay-per-click keywords. You may not list Xero discount codes that Xero did not give you, alter its logos, imply that Xero endorses you, or place the link alongside objectionable content. You must disclose the relationship to your audience. Content marketing, email marketing and general online advertising are all accepted, and Xero can ask you to stop any specific activity on three business days’ notice.
What isn’t published
Xero publishes an affiliate page but not the full terms. Anything it doesn’t state — thresholds, payout timing, cookie window — is left blank here rather than guessed, and shows as a dash in comparisons.
